The Silver Thread of Fate

Rowan Ashford never asked for power. When he rescues an injured Aether Squirrel, he is gifted an extraordinary ability—telekinesis. At first, the power seems like a blessing. But when Rowan’s secret is exposed, those who fear what he can do take the one person he loves most hostage. In the struggle to save her, Rowan’s own power becomes the weapon that destroys everything he holds dear. Haunted by the past and unable to forgive himself, Rowan abandons his old life and joins a mercenary company. Among hardened warriors, he expects only survival. Instead, he finds something he thought he had lost forever: friendship, purpose, and a place where he belongs. Then there is Aria, the company's commander. Where others see Rowan's telekinesis as a dangerous and unpredictable gift, Aria sees its true potential. Under her guidance, Rowan begins to master his ability and discovers that his power can do far more than he ever imagined. But Aria carries a unspoken secret of her own. A deadly disease makes physical contact with her dangerous. Anyone without the magic to resist it could pay with their life. For years, Aria has kept everyone at a distance, accepting loneliness as the price of protecting those around her. Until Rowan changes everything. As battles draw them closer together, Rowan and Aria discover a bond neither expected. And when Rowan realizes his telekinetic ability may hold the key to saving her, he is faced with a choice: remain haunted by the power that once took everything from him—or risk everything to use it to save the woman who has given him a reason to live again. In a world where magic can protect or destroy, Rowan must finally decide what his power truly means.
